BELVEDERE is a new Junior Jet Set gem within easy reach of two international airports (Florence and Pisa). Vittorio, the current owner, was left the house by his aunt and in the last 2 years he has focused his energy on renovating Belvedere with a clear vision of what he wants to create a rustic Tuscan retreat for his friends and friends of friends to enjoy. The shabby chic style and personal touches create a home away from home for guests.

The house lies amid 50 acres of farmland, and has seven bedrooms (sleeping 10-14). It is very well equipped with a fantastic kitchen, great for dining at home if you prefer not to leave your Tuscan haven and the living space continues with one dining room with a large fireplace, a second that has a wooden fired pizza oven (personally tested by one of the G&T team!) and a movie room with huge floor cushions for the children to lounge on and watch their favourite DVDs.

The garden has outdoor lighting and sitting areas and the 12 metre swimming pool is surrounded by a gated fence making it child friendly.

Vittorio who is passionate about his wines chooses a selection of house wines and prosecco for his guests. On arrival you are given a bottle of the family Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the pantry is stocked with essentials. Sandra, the housekeeper, comes to the house every day and can also be called upon for shopping, cooking and babysitting.

Belvedere is 10 kilometres from the medieval town of San Miniato (among the region’s many local gastronomic specialities are white truffles, which command their own festival, the feast of the white truffles, held in San Miniato). Certaldo is another local town well worth a visit, especially during the annual music street festival, the Mercantia which takes place in July. Slightly further afield are Volterra, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, while Siena, Lucca and the coastal town of Versilia lie less than an hour away.

ACTIVITIES: riding, walking, golf, cooking courses, markets, walks and much more. Enjoy an aperitivo at one of the bars at the top of the Campo in Sienna. There are plenty of other tourists, but watching the sunset over the bustle of Italy’s most beautiful piazza, is an experience not to be missed!

Although it is wonderfully remote you are still connected via wi-fi, if you want to be!!

RATES from EURO 3000 per week. Call us for more details….0207 434 2255
